Here are a few snaps taken on today's visit to Port Sunlight "model village". which contains over 1000 Grade II listed dwellings. The village was build by Lord Lever for the workers in his factory at Port Sunlight, Merseyside, , over 100 years ago. The company went on to become the world famous Lever Brothers company that we know today. Famous brands produced by the company include Lifebouy Soap and Pears Soap amongst many others.

Over Easter 2005 and the following week we had some new visitors to our garden pond, that is apart from the mating frogs and newts.

Car Break In

Thieves jemmied the lock
To take the CD player
On Wednesday night thieves broke into my car and stole my CD player. I tried out the camera built into my new Nokia 6230 mobile phone for the first time.

Be nice to know where they live and let them feel what it is like to have property destroyed.. but then, they probably didn't buy anything in the first place.. sorry to hear you've been victimized. Fri 19-Nov-2004 16:09

Some Of My Attempts At Watercolour Painting

View all 6 photos...
Way back in November 2000 I injured my back and it kept me off work for around 7 weeks. During that I time I started to watch a day time TV show called Watercolour Challenge and started to think, I'm sure I could do as well as some of the contestants.

The result was my partner bought me a starter set of paints, brushes and a book called 'Simply Painting' by Frank Clarke and from that moment on I started on the road to try to teach myself. There were plenty of disasters on the way, but I still managed to produce a few decent paintings, some of which are hanging on relatives walls. Then work and other interests started to get in the way of things and my interest waned, to such an extent that I haven't painted anything for 2 years now.

That changed 5 weeks ago, when my interest was rekindled and I started to go to evening classes for watercolour painting. I think the lack of practise is showing but I'm picking up tips as I go along and feel there has been some improvements in my techniques over the last 5 weeks.

Anyway see for yourself and feel free to critisise, but remember I do it for fun not profit.

lovely watercolours.. nice to get back into something you enjoy... I never had the patience for painting though... Thu 28-Oct-2004 16:22

I tried watercoloring in art class last year and I just made a mess! But it was still fun....
These are awesome! You do a great job! I enjoy ink drawing myself.

Nice pictures, particularly 2/3/4.
I envy you your talent, my dad was a watercolourist, but it's not genetic as I can't paint for toffee.
